The majority of attractions listed on these pages are suitable for young and older alike, but the following two perhaps have a particular appeal to children ... Boranup Forest MazeThe Great Boranup Maze has been described as a 'leg-stretcher' and a 'mind-bender' for children and adults alike. It is terrific fun as everyone becomes lost – if only temporarily. Augusta Historical Museum The Augusta Historical Museum was established in 1979. Some of its visitors have even said it is the best small museum they have ever been to. Displays include details of families involved in the 1830s, making it the third white settlement in Western Australia, together with artifacts from local shipwrecks, from the MC Davies timber empire (1880's to 1915), the local environment, personal effects of early settlers, details of the 1920's group settlements, commemorative china, coins and medals, garments from various eras, church organs and the whale rescue event which put Augusta in the world news headlines. It is open seven days during the school holidays and from Friday - Monday at other times. It is located on Blackwood Avenue, AUGUSTA
