WELCOME TO OUR WEB-SITE ...

Close to the Margaret River Wine Region, in the South West town of AUGUSTA in Western Australia, you will discover this private, fully restored, 1930's, family owned, single cottage, nestled on the western bank of the Hardey Inlet, It is called 'BONNIE DOON', being so named by the Henderson Family who built it.

'BONNIE DOON' is one of the very few properties in this tranquil and virtually ‘un-spoilt’ country town, that has its own, romantic, river frontage and yet it is so close to the ocean.

'BONNIE DOON COTTAGE' offers very comfortable accommodation, on a self catering basis, for up to four people, at very affordable rates. The cottage is cosy and fully equipped.

The property is unfenced so please consider carefully if you wish to bring your dog. There are many trees suitable for you to leave your dog secured on a chain, for short periods, but only if they do not bark !

Although the property extends to the waterfront, it is not possible to launch a boat or dingy into the inlet from Bonnie Doon. There is, however, a public boat ramp at the Colourpatch, which is very close by. Please park your boat on the lawn next to the trampoline. Bonnie Doon Cottage is beyond this point, closer to the water. No boats are to be taken beyond the limestone driveway. We appreciate your co-operation.

It is here, at Augusta, that the 300km long Blackwood River joins the sea and where the Indian and Southern Oceans come together at Cape Leeuwin.

The Augusta area as a whole, offers many great attractions for the young and the young at heart and for those ages in between. There are miles of pristine dog-friendly beach to walk, just by stepping out the front door, as well as Whale and Dolphin watching, fishing, river trips, wildflowers, or maybe a leisurely game of golf.

The area presents to you a myriad of events and places to visit, such as mainland Australia’s tallest lighthouse, the ‘Leeuwin’, positioned on the most south-westerly tip of Australia, at the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.

There are Karri and Marri forests, caves, bushwalks and many other attractions, all within an easy drive of 'BONNIE DOON'.

You may, of course, just prefer to spend your leisure hours sitting in a chair on the river-bank, sketching, painting, reading, or, just relaxing with a glass of local wine, whilst absorbing the local scenery …

There is all this and more, for you to enjoy !
